Open Access Model
The Journal of Lung Health and Diseases (JLHD) is a fully open access journal. All articles are published under an open access model and are immediately and permanently freely available online to the global scientific community and general public — without any subscription fee, registration requirement, or access barrier.
This journal provides worldwide electronic distribution of peer-reviewed scientific literature. Through JLHD, all scientists, scholars, professors, students, clinicians, and other readers are able to copy, use, distribute, transmit, and display the work publicly, and make and distribute derivative works, in any digital medium for any responsible purpose, subject to proper attribution of authorship.
Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI)
JLHD is fully compliant with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI). By "open access" we mean the free availability of literature on the public internet, permitting any users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose — without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself.
The only constraint on reproduction and distribution, and the only role for copyright in this domain, is to give authors control over the integrity of their work and the right to be properly acknowledged and cited.
License & Copyright
All articles published in JLHD are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. This permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.
Authors retain full copyright of their work. By submitting to JLHD, authors grant the journal an exclusive license to be the first publisher. Once published, any third party may use the article freely provided the original authors, citation details, and publisher are clearly identified.
| Permission | Details | Condition |
|---|---|---|
| Share | Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format, for any purpose including commercially | Attribution required |
| Adapt | Remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose | Attribution required |
| No Additional Restrictions | No DRM, no technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits | None |
Article Processing Charges (APC)
As an open access journal, JLHD does not generate revenue from subscriptions. The costs of peer review management, copyediting, typesetting, hosting, archiving, and worldwide open access dissemination are covered by an Article Processing Charge (APC), billed to the author or their institution upon acceptance.
No charge is made at the time of submission. Payment is only required after a manuscript has been accepted for publication following peer review.
Archiving & Long-Term Preservation
JLHD is committed to the long-term preservation and accessibility of all published content. All articles are assigned a permanent Digital Object Identifier (DOI) via Crossref, ensuring stable and persistent linking for citation purposes.
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| DOI Assignment | Every article is assigned a unique, permanent DOI via Crossref upon publication |
| Digital Archiving | Published content is archived to ensure long-term access and preservation independent of the journal website |
| No Retrospective Access Restrictions | Once published open access, articles will never be placed behind a paywall or access restriction |
| Embargo Period | None — all articles are immediately open access upon publication |
Self-Archiving & Preprint Policy
JLHD supports authors' rights to share their work. The following self-archiving permissions apply:
Editorial Independence & Non-Discrimination
Payment of the APC does not influence editorial decisions. All manuscripts are evaluated solely on scientific merit, originality, ethical compliance, and suitability for the journal's scope. The editorial process is entirely independent of financial considerations.
JLHD does not discriminate on the basis of nationality, institutional affiliation, funding source, gender, race, or religious beliefs in its editorial decision-making. All submissions from all countries are equally considered.
Indexing & Discoverability
All articles published in JLHD are made freely available and discoverable through major scientific databases, search engines, and repositories. Open access publication maximises citation potential and global reach.
